Complete roofing care

Roof repair and replacement in Fort Walton Beach.

From a small leak to a full replacement or a new metal roof, our Fort Walton Beach roofers give you a clear assessment and a practical path forward — no pressure, no surprises.

Roofing on the Emerald Coast

A roof here works harder than almost anywhere else.

Living a few miles from the Gulf is wonderful for almost everything except your roof. Salt carried inland on the breeze corrodes fasteners and flashing. Summer sun bakes asphalt shingles day after day until the granules let go. Afternoon thunderstorms drive rain sideways under shingle edges, and every few years a named storm arrives to test the weakest part of the whole assembly at once.

That combination is why roofs in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and the surrounding Okaloosa County communities tend to age faster than the manufacturer's brochure suggests. It is also why small problems rarely stay small here. A lifted shingle or a cracked pipe boot that would be a minor issue inland can soak decking and insulation within a single wet season on the coast.

Our work is straightforward: get on the roof, find out what is actually happening, and tell you plainly what it needs. Sometimes that is a repair measured in hours. Sometimes it is a full replacement. Either way you get an honest assessment and a written quote before anyone picks up a tool.

What we do

Our core roofing work.

Roof Inspections

Almost everything starts here. We walk the roof surface where it is safe to do so and look at the things that actually fail first: flashing at chimneys, valleys and wall lines, pipe boots, ridge and soffit ventilation, fastener condition, and the state of the shingle or panel field. Where there is attic access we go inside too, because the underside of the decking often tells the story before the exterior does.

You get photographs and a written summary of what we found, ranked by how urgent it is. If the roof is in good shape, we will tell you that and you will not hear from us again until you call. Inspections and quotes are free, and nothing about them obligates you to hire us.

Roof Repair

Most leaks are not where the water shows up inside. Water travels along rafters and decking seams before it finds a spot to drip, so a stain in a hallway ceiling can originate several feet uphill. We trace the path back to its source rather than sealing the nearest suspicious spot and hoping.

Typical repairs include replacing wind-lifted or missing shingles, rebuilding failed flashing, replacing cracked pipe boots and vent seals, repairing sections of soft decking, and correcting drainage where water is pooling or backing up at the eave. If a repair will only buy you a season, we will say so instead of taking the work.

Roof Replacement & Installation

When a roof reaches the end of its life, replacing it properly matters more than the brand name on the shingle wrapper. We tear off down to the deck, inspect and repair the sheathing, install underlayment and ice-and-water protection at the vulnerable areas, and detail the flashing and ventilation the way the manufacturer requires. Most warranty failures trace back to details, not materials.

Before we start you will know the material, the color, the timeline, and the price. We protect landscaping and driveways, keep the site clean as we go, and run a magnet over the property when we are finished. See residential roofing for how this differs on a home.

Storm Damage

After a significant storm, the damage that matters is often not the damage you can see from the driveway. Uplifted shingles that settled back down, loosened fasteners, bruised granule loss from hail, and separated flashing all leave a roof compromised while looking more or less intact.

We document conditions thoroughly — dated photographs, locations, and a plain written description — so you have credible material to hand your insurance adjuster. We do not tell you what your carrier will or will not cover, and we do not inflate findings. What we give you is an accurate record and a repair plan.

Everything we offer

The full list.

Beyond the roof deck itself, we handle the parts of the system that keep water moving away from your building — gutters, soffit, fascia, and the trim details that tie them together. Neglected gutters and rotted fascia are two of the most common reasons an otherwise sound roof starts leaking at the edge.

If you need something that is not on this list, call and ask. If it is outside what we do well, we would rather point you to someone who does it right.

Materials

Choosing the right roof for a coastal home.

Material choice matters more here than it does inland. Wind rating, fastener corrosion resistance, how a surface handles constant UV, and how quickly water clears the roof all shape how long a system lasts within sight of the Gulf. Budget matters too, and the cheapest roof is rarely the least expensive one over twenty years.

We will walk you through the trade-offs honestly for your specific home — its pitch, its exposure, its architecture, and what your neighborhood or HOA allows.

Architectural Shingles

The most common choice on the Emerald Coast, and for good reason: strong wind ratings, a wide range of colors, and excellent value. Dimensional shingles give a home depth and shadow line that flat three-tab shingles cannot.

Metal Roofing

Exposed-fastener metal panels are a durable, cost-effective way to protect a home or outbuilding. Metal sheds rain fast, resists wind uplift, and reflects a good deal of summer heat back off the roof.

Standing Seam Metal

Panels lock together with concealed fasteners, so there are far fewer penetrations for water or wind to work against. It is one of the longest-lasting systems we install and a natural fit for salt-air exposure.

Metal Shingles

The strength and longevity of a metal roof in a profile that reads like traditional shingles or tile from the street. A good option where an HOA or neighborhood style favors a conventional look.

Brava Cedar

Composite shake with the grain and warmth of real cedar, without the rot, insects, and constant upkeep that natural wood brings in a humid coastal climate.

Brava Slate

The look of quarried slate at a fraction of the weight, so most homes can carry it without structural reinforcement — and it will not crack the way natural stone can.

Brava Spanish Tile

Barrel tile character for Mediterranean and coastal architecture, molded in composite so it holds its color and shrugs off the freeze-thaw and impact issues of clay.

Brava composite roofing reproduces the look of natural cedar, slate, and Spanish tile in a molded synthetic that resists rot, insects, and impact. Ask us whether a composite roof makes sense for your property.

What we see most

Common roofing problems along the coast.

Leaks and water intrusion are the reason most people call us, and the visible stain is almost never directly beneath the failure. Tracing the actual entry point is the difference between a repair that holds and one that reappears after the next storm.

Missing and damaged shingles show up after every windy stretch. Curling edges, cracked tabs, and bare patches where the granules have washed away are all signs the surface is giving up its weather protection, and a roof missing shingles in several areas is usually telling you something about its overall age.

Flashing and seal failure around chimneys, skylights, valleys, and vent penetrations causes a surprising share of leaks on roofs that otherwise look fine. Rubber pipe boots in particular dry out and split in Florida sun, often well before the shingles around them wear out.

Ventilation problems are quieter but expensive. An attic that cannot exhaust heat cooks the shingles from underneath, shortens roof life, drives up cooling costs, and in a humid climate encourages moisture and mold in the roof assembly.

Gutter and drainage issues round out the list. When gutters clog, sag, or discharge in the wrong place, water backs up under the roof edge and works on the fascia and soffit until they rot — which then opens a path straight into the structure.
